The Great Outdoors

John and I spent our Memorial Day weekend camping with my aunt and uncle, and my cousin and his wife. We slept in a tent, did lots of fishing, cooked over the fire, and even went skeet shooting! I haven’t done any of that in years. I got a pretty decent sunburn from fishing and swimming two days ago, and it still hurts this morning. My cousin and I drank too much boxed wine and ended up dancing around the campfire (while John wondered how he could be associated with such colossal dorks). All in all it was a really good time. I think I even ended up with some good pictures. We will definitely do that again.

Dreams and Rain

Did you ever wake up from one of those dreams and feel like your whole day is going to be out of whack because of it, then you look out the window and see that it’s raining and wonder if it’s just a coincidence? I think my subconscious needs a vacation…

Weekend anyone???

This has been a very long week. A good week, but a long and tiring one. I think I used my brain more this week than I have in quite a while! Tomorrow morning we have to get up early to walk the Race for the Cure, then Dan’s birthday party in the afternoon. Then Sunday is Mother’s Day. Ugh! I just want to sleep in! Calgon, take me away!

31's not so bad

Despite lack of sleep and the looming onset of illness, I had a very pleasant birthday. I had a delightful steak dinner with the office folks. With the help of some Irish whiskey I was able to keep my spirits up long enough to find a menagerie of balloon animals waiting for me at home courtesy of my lovely John. Who knew he had such talent! He bought me my long-awaited monopod and finally a decent camera bag. I can’t wait to try them out!

Still not feeling so hot today, but I have to keep it together long enough to make it through work and dinner with the fam. Bring on the Monster!

I guess it's official

I'm not sure what prompted me to finally start a blog; perhaps it's because it's my 31st birthday as of 3 hours and 2 minutes ago. I'll have to get used to updating it like someone who actually has something to say! So here goes nothing...
